DJ Oonah discovered psytrance at just 16 and quickly found his way into the Belgian scene. Based in Ghent, he began organizing events at a young age and soon transitioned into DJing—a natural step given his deep connection to the music. His style adapts to the moment, ranging from full-on and progressive to oldschool, and occasionally dipping into minimal and techno. His talent behind the decks earned him recognition across Belgium and abroad, leading to a spot on Spectral Records in 2004 and performances at major events like Full Moon Festival and a Mexico tour with Dacru.

In 2006, Oonah joined Dacru Records permanently, solidifying his international presence. He often teams up with DJ Bonas from Aquila, with whom he released Essentials Vol.1 (2010) and the Uncharted compilation series, including Vol.1 (2015) and Vol.12 (2019). Alongside DJing, he ventured into music production—first releasing “Next Stop Earth” with DigiCult in 2006 and later collaborating with Ephedrix. Since 2010, he has been a core part of the DigiCult project, continuing to shape the sound of Dacru Records.

His psychedelic journey began in 2012, instantly drawn in by a bone-rattling bassline that sparked a deep connection. Years of dancing through festivals and underground parties shaped his sound into something raw, relentless, and charged with otherworldly energy. VOQ—short for Very Organic and Quick, and a nod to a rogue Klingon, delivers sets that distort time and twist perception.

He explores the faster, darker realms of psytrance (144 BPM+), where Night Full-On, Zenonesque, Twilight, Dark Psy, and Dark Forest collide. Expect heavy, rolling basslines and alien soundscapes in a high-intensity ritual designed to move bodies and melt minds. This is Psytrance with teeth!

Paioen is all about storytelling through sound, guiding the audience on a carefully crafted musical journey. With a diverse selection spanning multiple psytrance subgenres, his sets are designed to transport listeners from soaring mountain peaks to deep forest floors and hidden caves. Each transition is intentional, building an atmosphere that feels both immersive and unpredictable.

Known for his sense of groove and flow, Paioen excels at closing sets that leave a lasting impression. Whether it’s the final push of a long night or the first light of dawn, his music strikes a balance between energy and emotion grounded, dynamic, and never overdone.
